Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr. Tariq Banuri visited University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Lahore. He was received by Vice Chancellor UET Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid and other faculty members upon his arrival. While addressing the faculty members, Chairman HEC Dr. Tariq Banuri said, “HEC is striving hard for the promotion of higher education in Pakistan and efforts are also being made to invest in the economy, funding system, mobilization of resources in backward areas, investment in Engineering Technology, translating programs and capacity building of faculty and universities”. He added, HEC and universities both want to help students to secure their future and to transform them into successful citizens. At this occasion Vice Chancellor UET Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid briefed him about the university and its futuristic goals. Vice Chancellor said that education paved the way for development of sustainable societies and economy. He also said that the address of Chairman HEC would provide an exposure to broad perspectives and learning opportunities for faculty and students. At the end Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid presented a souvenir to Chairman HEC Dr. Tariq Banuri.
