25th Convocation of University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Lahore

Lahore (           ) 25th Convocation of University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Lahore was held at the main auditorium of the university. Governor Punjab and Chancellor of University Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar presided over the convocation. While Chairman Pakistan Higher Education Commission (PHEC) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nizamuddin and Chairman Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) Engr. Jawed Salim Qureshi participated as guests of honor.

While addressing to faculty, students and parents Governor Punjab and Chancellor of University Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said “At the occasion of convocation the enthusiasm of students is reflecting that they are committed to their future, these lucky students are the future of our nation. The economy of Pakistan is related to the engineering sector. Acquisition of development goals from engineering can definitely be made possible. The present government is having the vision that every child of this nation should get the degree to brighten the name of the country, so now students have got degrees and according to the Prime Minister’s vision, they will get good job opportunities.” Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar congratulated the graduate students and advised them to work hard in every field of life so that they could participate in the economic transit of Pakistan.

He further said, “Pakistan is facing many complicated challenges which can be resolved through collective wisdom and long-term decisions with the assistance of latest skills and comprehensive strategies.” He admired the role of UET in developing Pakistan from many decades by producing renowned professionals and maintaining the efforts for getting more progress.

At this occasion Vice Chancellor, UET Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid said, “Universities play a vital role to build a nation on scientific base with the help of result-oriented research and other ways of learning.” He highlighted the output of the university with important statistics in capacity building, new pedagogical techniques, laboratory, and research centers, up gradation of courses, construction, expansion, and memorandum of understandings with academic and industrial institutions at national and international levels.

The convocation comprised under 7 different faculties at least 2263 Degrees including 19 Ph.D. degrees, 564 M. Phil/MS degrees, and 1680 undergraduate degrees to B.Sc. session 2018 and Architecture 2018 and 71 Gold Medals were distributed among students. Undergraduate degrees were awarded in UET main and sub-campuses of UET followed by the number of at least 1139 degrees in UET Lahore main campus, 222 in UET Kala Shak Kaku (UET-KSK) campus, 157 degrees in UET Faisalabad (UET-FSD) campus, 87 degrees in Rachna College of Engineering and Technology (UET-RCET) campus, 75 degrees in UET Narowal (UET-NWL) campus.

In this event, members of the syndicate, Deans of University including Prof. Dr. Abdul Sattar Shakir, Prof. Dr. Nadeem Feroz, and Prof. Dr. Ghulam Abbas Anjum, Registrar Muhammad Asif, Controller Examination Muhammad Zargham Nusrat chairpersons of academic and administrative offices with the big number of students were present.  At the end of convocation Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid presented the souvenir to honorable guests Governor Punjab and Chancellor of University Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, Chairman PHEC Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nizamuddin and Chairman PEC Engr. Jawed Salim Qureshi.
