Ahsan Kareem (1968-Civil), Elected to the Engineering Academy of Japan

Ahsan Kareem, the Robert M. Moran Professor of Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences, has been elected to the Engineering Academy of Japan (EAJ) as a foreign associate. EAJ comprises of leading experts from academia, industry, and government institutions. Since its establishment in 1987, the EAJ has grown to approximately 800 individual Japanese members and 14 foreign associates. Kareem holds the unprecedented distinction of being the only individual elected to the US National Academy of Engineering, Chinese Academy of Engineering, Indian Academy of Engineering and the Engineering Academy of Japan.
