Alumni Re-Union-2016

The University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore Alumni Re-Union held here on today. The main function of the Alumni was organized in the New Auditorium Complex Hall. Speaking on the occasion the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid said that the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore is the pioneer Engineering Universities of Pakistan having been established in 1921. Graduates of the UET are working throughout the world serving the humanity in different capacities. Span of time created the feelings of reunion of all these Engineers and Scientists. Being the focal point of studies, the university feels its noble duty to gather all these renowned personalities. This will not only facilitate the close contact between the Engineers and Scientist but also create a platform for further communication among the experts in the field of Science and Technology. Taking into account all these factors UET, Lahore had decided to re-union UET Alumni.

Talking to media, Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid said that UET the oldest seat of higher learning in Pakistan and announced the 2016 a year of grand celebrations for all UETians at the international level, saying that the university had planned several literary, co-curricular and social events to mark the celebrations. He proudly said that UET produced hundreds of eminent figures. The main objective of the Alumni Re-Union was to let’s re-solder our ties.
Federal Minister Planning, Development and Reform Ahsan Iqbal today said that Pakistan can move to top twenty five econnomies of the world by 2025 with the passion of people of Pakistan and the talent of our youth, which can even take the country in top ten econnomies of the world by 2047. Pakistan is successful emerging state, which can be developed economically through self-belief and postivity by defeating the negativity. Ahsan Iqbal said that Pakistan needs seven to eight percent transformational growth in next ten years to mobilize the resources for social uplift of backward areas of the country and create jobs for growing youth population. He believed that passion of Pakistani people would make this dream true. He said Vision-2025 and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor would help to realize the dream of economically developed Pakistan. Minister appreciated the UET Engineers and Scientist and noted their quality speaks of hard work of researchers. He assured that workable recommendations of research papers would be utilized in policy making. Ahsan Iqbal stated, “650 KMS missing link on Western route would be completed by December 2016. It is pertinent to mention here that all kind of financial support is available every time for UETians for strengthening of Pakistan.

The Chairman Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) Dr. Javed Qureshi also offered permanent award for researcher or inventor of the special project and said an amount of Rs. 1 Million will be awarded. He said this award will organize here in UET, Lahore in 2016.
Al-Khawarizmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS) has launched Alumni Management System along with its website (http://alumni.uet.edu.pk).
Now all alumni can sign up to this system and can manage thier own professional social network
Eminent engineers form UET, Scientists, Architects, many renowned personalities, Prof. Dr. Faiz-ul-Hassan ex-Vice-Chancellor Education University, Mr. Jawad Ahmad a famous singer, all deans of faculties, Heads of teaching and non-teaching departments and many others were attended this ceremony.
