IEEE UET organized APES 2018

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore organized a three-day foremost technical event of the year named “All Pakistan Electrical Symposium” (APES). The purpose of this event was to bridge the gap between industry and academia.
The event was comprised of a technical workshop and an eclectic mixture of the roundtable and motivational talks on various topics from the domains of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering by various speakers from all over Pakistan. More than two hundred fifty participants from different universities of Pakistan participated in the symposium.
A couple of industrial tours, industrial exhibition and fruitful talks on Women in Engineering, Industry-Academia linkage, and Humanitarian activities were also part of the symposium. Notable Speakers like Dr. Khurram Afridi from the University of Colorado, Dr. Akbar Hussain from Aalborg University Denmark, Mr. Fakhar Abbas from IBM and Dr. Bilal Arif from Schneider Electric joined the event to share their thoughts, views, and ideologies on the advancement of technology

At Closing Ceremony, CEO Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) Mr. Mujahid Chattha was the Chief Guest. He distributed certificates to the students who successfully completed their internships with the organizations this summer and awards to best volunteers and best ambassador of the event. The Vice-Chancellor UET Lahore Prof. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid was presented with a souvenir for being the convener of the symposium. There was a formal dinner for the speakers and the panelists at the end of the ceremony. The event concluded with the appreciation of Vice Chancellor for the Department of Electrical Engineering and IEEE UET Lahore for organizing this event successfully.
