Renowned motivational speaker and corporate trainer Mr. Qasim Ali Shah visited his alma mater University of Engineering & Technology Lahore today. Qasim Ali Shah is an alumnus of the Chemical Engineering Department of UET Lahore. Mr. Shah was welcomed by the Vice-Chancellor UET Prof. Dr. Syed Mansoor Sarwar along with Deans Chemical Engineering and Natural Sciences, and Director Student Affairs, UET Lahore. Mr. Shah and the Vice-Chancellor pondered over the future collaboration of UET and Qasim Ali Shah Foundation. Later, Mr. Shah addressed first semester students of Chemical and Polymer Engineering departments and emphasized expanding one’s horizon beyond textbooks, towards specialization, and striving for unmitigated focus in the field of one’s passion. He announced 20 scholarships for the university students for each year. 5 each for Chemical and Polymer Engineering students and 10 for the rest of the departments. The scholarship comprises Rs.10,000/month and will be granted on the recommendation of Heads of the department. The scholarship spans over four years and the selected students will be mentored by senior professional engineers in the industry to inculcate soft skills and professionalism in these students so that they become highly employable when they graduate. The vice-chancellor thanked Mr. Shah and his foundation for facilitating and mentoring UET students.
